The 2023 Reiner ProTecTOR is the patented CorrecTOR system made into a single unit saddlepad. It comes with 6 front and 4 rear 1/4" balance shims. The front shims go in the front pockets and the rear shims go in the rear pockets. The shims are not moved around for saddle-fit. They work like wedges under a rocking chair. The protective shields of 1/10" thick Aircraft Plastic are molded to a basic horse shape & adapt to the horse when you mount and follow his shape as he moves. The shims are used for balancing the you, the rider. The only thing you have to do is to try them and see how many put you in a balanced riding position.
We use an oiled tanned wear leather, Rust, Brown, or Black. Rust will be used unless you ask for another in the comment section of your order. The top layer of 1/8" Felt creates a pocket for the shims inserted from the top center. Next is Nylon Netting, polymer shields, then 3/8" of Polyester felt. Against the horse the a REMOVABLE 4mm Felt LINER pad below that IS INCLUDED SO YOU NEVER HAVE TO WASH the PROTECTOR PAD. The front of the pad has a 5.5" Cutback with an Oil tanned leather center reinforcement. It's designed so, Hi withers or not, the front of the PAD DOESN'T BITE INTO THE WITHERS. The LINER Pad is available with 1" polyester fleece & a Marine vinyl re-enforcement center strip. It cost $30 extra for the FLEECE OPTION on the Liner.
The 2023 Reiner has a top layer of 1/8" polyester felt, a 2nd layer or 3/8" felt under the 1/10" thick Protector's shields. A nylon Netting covers the shields & secures them. These Aircraft Plastic Shields are pre-molded to a horse-shape where they're supposed to ride and slotted to further shape to and Move with your horse. The top 1/8" layer forms the POCKET for the Balance shims. The Liner Pad is 4mm Felt or 1 /8" Felt with the Fleece option so as not to get too thick.
The 30/32 means the Pad is 30" at top center & 32 at the bottom side. It is great for short-backed horses as is the 32"/34. There is a 1.5" wide open channel down the center of the Pad.
Size Chart: 30/32 is for saddles with skirts 25" or shorter. The 32/34 is for saddles with skirts 26" or longer.
