The Roper ProTecTOR is the patented CorrecTOR WEIGHT DISTRIBUTING SYSTEM made into a single unit saddle pad. It comes with 6 front and 4 rear 1/4" balance shims. Front shims slip under th 1/8" felt top layer & ride above the Horse shaped Plastic shields front & rear. The shims are not moved around to play saddle-fit. The protective shields takes care of that. The shims are used for balancing the you, the rider. The only thing you have to do is to try them and see how many put you in a better position to Rope. The front shims take the ROCK out of a saddle while you balance yourself with them.
We use an oiled tanned & durable wearleather. The ROPER ProTecTOR has a 7/16" black polyester felt bottom layer. Next is a 4MM FELT LINER PAD cut to match the PROTECTOR. Liner is fastened front & rear with 1" ELASTIC & velcro at top, it doesn't move around. The Pad is known to last for 10 years without a LINER.
The 7/16ths inch polyester felt below the the 1/10" thick aircraft plastic shields that are pre-molded to a horse-shape where they're supposed to ride. ROPER Pad comes with FELT for closer contact and NO BREAK-IN or the FLEECE option for $30 extra. The FLEECE IS GLUED & SEWN to the 4mm FELT LINER with a marine Vinyl Re-enforcement center strip. It has 1" elastic with VELCRO to attach front & rear.
The ROPER Protector pad has a 6oz. leather center re-enforcement Center strip same Oil tanned hide as the Wearleather.
Size Chart: 30/32 for Roping saddles with skirts 25" or shorter. 32/34 for Roping saddles with skirts longer than 26". The full 32 inch square version is available again & works with most 15 & 16 inch saddles.
