This ProTecTOR® will fit: 15" thru 18" Aussie saddles. Get 5 inches more pad length than you have Panels or Skirts on the saddle. The Std. English Aussie ProTecTOR is 24" Long and 44" Wide. It is 4/4" thick felt & has 8 balance Shims, IT NO LONGER HAS THE FLEECE LOWER as shown here because of the 4MM LINER Pad. This package works well for Endurance and Aussie saddles or Dressage Saddles for the Trail. This Aussie Saddle pictured is a standard size English Aussie. Saddle shown is 20.5" long. I find very few horse/saddle combinations that don't need balancing for the rider. You get one page of simple instructions for using the shims. It takes all of about 30 minutes. Figure 2.5 inches of extension at the front of the saddle. Balance shims are used to adjust rider's balance, let the horse round its back more easily, or correct the one-sidedness of a horse. They eliminate the need for re-stuffing which many riders don't realize is only capable of re-balancing the rider. To literally fit a horse an English saddle requires new leather patterns for the completely reshaped stuffed panels needed to really change the saddle. This requires major dis-assembly and rebuilding of the saddle. {It's cheaper to buy a new saddle.} Standard is: a Liner Pad, black felt 4mm thick and quite soft. Just hose off or wash in a buck of hot water & dawn dish soap.
